What is a Financial Coach?

Like a financial advisor, a financial coach can help with money decisions, but they do very different jobs. In general, a financial coach focuses on everyday money habits such as budgeting, saving, and paying down debt. A financial advisor typically helps with investing, retirement planning, insurance, tax strategy, and broader long-term financial planning.

One of the biggest differences is legal responsibility: financial coaches provide education and accountability, while some financial advisors may be legally required to act in your best interest when giving financial advice, depending on how they are registered and what credentials they hold.
